QuickBooks Error OL-334
Free Step-By-Step Fix Guide
QuickBooks Error OL-334 appears when the software cannot complete an online banking sync. This usually happens when your bank has updated their security settings, changed their connection protocol, or when your QuickBooks bank feed connection has become stale and needs refreshing. It is closely related to OL-222 but specifically indicates a sync completion failure rather than a connection failure.
Before You Start — Try This First
- Log into your bank website directly to confirm it is working normally
- Check if your bank sent any security update or change notifications
- Make sure QuickBooks is fully updated
- Confirm your internet connection is stable and working
Step-by-Step Fix
Update QuickBooks First
Help → Update QuickBooks Desktop → Update Now → Install all available updates → Restart QuickBooks → Try bank sync again before attempting any other steps
Deactivate and Reactivate Bank Feed
In QuickBooks go to your bank account. Lists → Chart of Accounts → Right click your bank account → Edit Account → Online Services tab → Deactivate All Online Services → Save → Then set up bank feed again from scratch with your credentials
Refresh Your Bank Credentials
Log directly into your bank website → Confirm your username and password still work correctly → If your bank added two-factor authentication update how you connect inside QuickBooks
Clear QuickBooks Cache
Close QuickBooks → Press Windows + R → %appdata% → Navigate to Intuit → QuickBooks → Delete the cache folder contents → Reopen QuickBooks → Try bank sync
Use Web Connect Instead
Download transactions manually from your bank website as a .QBO file → In QuickBooks: File → Utilities → Import → Web Connect Files → Select your downloaded .QBO file → This bypasses the automatic sync
Reset Your Internet Explorer Settings
QuickBooks uses Internet Explorer settings for banking connections: Open Internet Explorer → Tools → Internet Options → Advanced tab → Reset → Restart computer → Try QuickBooks bank sync again
Contact Your Bank
Call your bank and ask specifically: Has anything changed with your QuickBooks or third-party app connection recently? Banks sometimes change APIs without notifying users.
