Step-by-Step Fix

Run Verify Data Once
File → Utilities → Verify Data → Let it complete fully → Note all errors reported → Do NOT run multiple times as repeated verify can worsen damage
Run Rebuild Data Once
File → Utilities → Rebuild Data → QuickBooks will prompt you to back up → Do so again → Let rebuild complete fully → Note what was fixed and what remains
Run QuickBooks File Doctor
QuickBooks Tool Hub → Company File Issues → Run QuickBooks File Doctor → Select your company file → Full scan of file and network
Try Opening on Another Computer
Copy company file to USB → Install QuickBooks on another computer → Try opening the file there → If it opens the issue is your original computer configuration
Restore an Older Backup
If current file is too damaged: File → Open or Restore Company → Restore a Backup Copy → Try a backup from 1 week ago → Manually re-enter any recent transactions
Export and Re-import Data
If file partially opens: Export your lists and reports → Create a new company file → Import your data into the new file → This creates a clean database
